How It Works

What Is Shopify Collective?

Shopify Collective is a powerful way for Shopify stores to connect and sell each other's products — all inside Shopify. It lets retailers import complementary products from suppliers and start selling without any upfront inventory costs or commitments.

How It Works

1. Connect with Suppliers

Browse and search for suppliers in the Shopify Collective app, or accept an invitation from a supplier who wants to work with you. You can also invite suppliers you already know to connect with your store.

2. Import Products

Once connected, suppliers share their products through price lists. You choose which products to import to your store — no purchasing inventory upfront required. Suppliers set both the cost price (what you pay) and the suggested retail price (what your customers pay).

3. Sell & Earn a Margin

List the imported products on your store and start selling. Your profit is the difference between the retail price and the cost price — margins typically range from 20% to 50% depending on the supplier.

4. Automatic Order Fulfillment

When a customer places an order, it's automatically forwarded to the supplier. The supplier fulfills and ships the product directly to your customer. Tracking numbers sync automatically, triggering your store's branded shipping notifications.

As a Supplier

If you want to grow your reach by having other Shopify stores sell your products, you can join Shopify Collective as a supplier. Create price lists, set your cost and retail pricing, and connect with retailers who will sell your products — all while you handle fulfillment.
